Davos is not only the starting location of the Swiss Alpine Marathon but also the highest town in the Alps (1560m above sea level). Therefore it is the perfect location to prepare for the Swiss Alpine Marathon. The best place to stay is definitely the Hotel Schatzalp, located beautifully at 300m above the town centre. Our funicular will bring you up to the hotel from Davos-Platz within 4 minutes.

The hotel is surrounded by perfect facilities for practicing the marathon. On endless marked paths through beautiful forests, parkland or mountain flanks you can compose your own customized walking and running programme for the final days before the competition.
If you have already finished your training agenda, you are still at the right place: go for recreational promenades in our forest park at an altitude of 2000 metres, a comfortable walk on the path of the “alpintour” of Davos or take a fantastic mountain hike up to the Schiahorn (2'709 metres), just behind the hotel.
