Over and over again, the Schatzalp served as a backdrop for movies and shows.
In 2005, for example, for the reality TV show “Das Internat – Schule wie vor 50 Jahren” (“Boarding school – school as it was 50 years ago”) on SRF. In the film, 16 young people from all over German-speaking Switzerland went to the Schatzalp above Davos for three weeks to experience what boarding school life was like 50 years ago. A clearly structured daily routine, a lot of school and discipline, little free time and no modern equipment were the order of the day. (Released 2005)
In summer 2014, it was the new film ‘Youth – La Giovinezza” by Oscar winner Paolo Sorrentino that was selected for the Cannes Film Festival. (Released 2015)
Then in 2015, the French historical drama ‘Mal de pierres – The Woman in the Moon‘ with actors such as Marion Cotillard, Louis Garrel, Alex Brendemühl. (Released 2016)
During the summer of 2017, the reality TV show ‘Hotel Romántico’, produced for the Spanish TV channel RTVE, was filmed at Schatzalp. Hotel Schatzalp was the venue for the scenario in which the twelve male and twelve female participants carried out numerous activities to find out how their characters get along. Being part of the eight episodes was a great pleasure and a lot of fun. (Released 2017)
Swiss hotel stories: Legends on the Mountain 3/4
“Bellevue des Alpes” and “Schatzalp” are two legendary mountain hotels. The third episode tells about their owners, their guests and the magical attraction of the Alps.
