The Schatzalp sanatorium opened in 1900, with wealthy patients fighting for the coveted spots in the luxurious Art Nouveau building. Thomas Mann was also one of the visitors. The spa at that time served the later Nobel Prize winner as inspiration for the book “The Magic Mountain”. The then sanatorium is now operated as a hotel.

Guided tours will take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 2:15 p.m. from 17th December until 27 March and again from 10th June to 23rd October , 2025. (only in German)

Tickets
Cost for the guided tour: CHF 5.00, for hotel guests it is free of charge (No registration required).

Special Offer
As part of the summer guest program, guests with the Premium Card (guest card) receive the guided tour including train ride for CHF 5.00. Registration online at www.davos.ch
